If you want me to run the other direction, feed me healthy snack food.
Seriously, pretty much every “healthy” quick grab-and-go snack I’ve tasted might as well be cardboard. When I need a pick-me-up during the day and don’t want to be too naughty, I usually go for a fruit-filled smoothie or maybe some celery and peanut butter. Now, I have a new go-to snack option!
I kept seeing roasted chickpeas as a snack option on Pinterest, so I decided to try my hand at roasting them myself. Once they are roasted, you can add whatever flavors you like. I love recipes that are easy to customize!
These chickpeas are filled with the warm spices of fall, with a dose of sweetness from honey without being too sweet.
I love how versatile they are too. You can eat them as-is, add them to trail mix, use them as a crunchy element on salads, top your yogurt or smoothie bowls with them… the sky is really the limit.
This month’s Fantastical Food Fight theme is “honey,” so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share. Learn more about the Fantastical Food Fight here and scroll down to get more honey recipes!

Recipe Notes

I really like roasted chickpeas and all the different ways you can flavor them. These ones look delicious!
I know that these would not last very long in this household. Love the flavors you used.
I have never tried roasted chickpeas, and pretty much share your view on “healthy” food. You’ve convinced me to try these.
What a clever idea!!
How did you ever manage to stop eating these? I wouldn’t be able to resist their sweet and crunchy power!!!
I definitely need to get around to making roasted chickpeas. I don’t think I’ve ever had them that way and I like them already, so that seems like something fun and new to try. Plus honey cinnamon – YES. I definitely see these being a great addition to trail mix.
Roasted chickpeas with honey and those spices must have been addictive!!!! I am thinking of making a batch with pumpkin spice! 😀
