Blackberry Lime Mermaid Yogurt Pops #CookoutWeek

Blackberry Lime Mermaid Yogurt Pops - Triple Chocolate Kitchen

This spring, when everything was “unicorn,” I said to Jeffrey that I bet everything would be mermaid-colored by summer. Boy was I right on that one! It’s one of the biggest trends in food, fashion, and beauty.

Aaaaaand… I kinda love it. I’m jumping on the mermaid trend! I live in Norfolk, which is the mermaid city. There are mermaid sculptures installed everywhere – the library, the beach, the mall, etc. 130 bronze sculptures in total, plus countless other mermaid statues, murals, and paintings. They’re so pretty, and all painted to reflect the local neighborhood.

I miss my family in Pennsylvania, but one of the things I absolutely love about Norfolk is being so close to the beach. Before I moved down here, I had been to the beach less than 10 times in my life. Now, I walk down to the beach at least 3-4 times per week. Our house is only about 3 blocks away from the water.

Here’s the mermaid yogurt pops recipe if you want to try this one at home. Please note that I used some food coloring to punch up the color a bit, since blackberries produce more of a pink-ish hue, rather than the purple I wanted. You could leave out the artificial coloring if you want.
