It’s Secret Recipe Club reveal day! Every month, our little group swaps blogs “Secret Santa” style and we all try out recipes from our assigned blogs.
This month, we got Wildflour’s Cottage Kitchen, and oh man it was hard to choose which of Kelly’s recipes to try. But then we decided to have an impromptu game night at our house, and I was put in charge of coming up with a fun cocktail… so I decided to give her Wild Blackberry Beer Cooler recipe a whirl.
I mean, who doesn’t like berries in their beer? When I said “beer berry coolers” the guys’ ears perked up.
Now, her recipe used wild blackberries, as the name implies, but I happened to have blueberries on hand, so I used them instead. For my light beer, I used a lemon shandy, so it would pair perfectly with the lemon juice in the recipe itself.
If you haven’t tried Shock Top’s lemon shandy yet, DO IT! If you are a fan of shandies, you will love it. I usually get Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, but Shock Top was on sale, and man, I have to say, it is delicious!
And for the record, Shock Top isn’t sponsoring this post or anything… I just really love their product! And it was perfect in this Berry Beer Cooler recipe, especially with the blueberries.
I loved the final result, though I think next time I make it, I will take the time to strain it. I didn’t this time around, and I kept picking blueberries out of my teeth. Not cute. But so yummy, I didn’t care.

Here’s the recipe, with the quantities changed a bit from Kelly’s original since I was making them for a party, rather than just myself. 🙂
Berry Beer Coolers
- 1 pint blueberries about 2 cups if you're using frozen
- 1 1/3 cup white wine
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 3 teaspoons honey more if you are using a tarter berry
- light beer
- lemon slices optional
Add all ingredients expect beer to a blender and blend until smooth.
Strain desired amount through a fine mesh strainer into your glass. (I recommend filling your glass 1/4 to 1/3 full with the berry mixture, but you could do 1/2 glass or more.)
Slowly pour beer into the glass to fill.
Garnish with a lemon slice (optional).
Recipe NotesThis recipe uses blueberries, but you could also use blackberries or raspberries.
